Overview & Reviews
The MR2 Spyder rolls into 2002 with a new Formula One-style five-speed manual transmission. The only other change is that the yellow cloth interior has been discontinued.
- Well-balanced mid-engine design, scores high on the fun scale, awesome car to run hard on the track, affordability.
- Homely design, lack of cargo space, dated interior design, non-adjustable seats.

Fun, Fun, Fun! - 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder
By LFL - January 21 - 10:00 amDrivers area in S2000 and Miata were too narrow; no room for left elbow. Ample elbow room in my 2001 MR2. Contrary to what you have read in some reviews, you do not have to get out to operate the convertible top. Cargo space is indeed limited, but we two have adjusted and have no complaints, even on long trips. Smooth and stable up to and over 100 mph.
